Scootin down a rural hardtop last week. On the opposite shoulder there was a turkey vulture feasting on a dead raccoon or something. As I get
closer, he takes off: not away from the sound of my bike, but right at me. I had to brake very hard
or I would have ridden directly into his 5 plus
feet wingspan. Never been so scared in 30 plus
years of riding.
